The kdbx files can now be opened with KeePassXC and the attachments can be opened again. To install ~ $ sudo apt install keepassxc It also lets you import PwManager and KWallet XML databases. keepassx2 AUR uses the KeePass 2.x format, but can import 1.x databases. And it is part of the official Ubuntu repositories as well. Pros Excellent security Multifactor authentication (MFA) 100+ plugins available Portable database storage option Always free Cons Difficult to use for less tech-savvy users Dated, nonintuitive. The biggest advantage with KeePassXC however is that this fork does not rely on Mono, instead it's built on Qt. There are a lot of forks of the original KeePass project around. However with the Ubuntu repositories, there is no newer KeePass 2 version available (yet). 2 Additionally, there are several unofficial ports for Windows Phone, Android, iOS, and BlackBerry devices, which normally work with the same copied or shared (remote) password database.
